Pauline Morse Astin, 94, died peacefully in her sleep on December 26, 2011 in Rancho Mirage, CA surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 31, 1917 in New Bedford, MA. After graduation from Bryant College in Providence, RI, she met her true love, Frederic. They were married in 1941 and recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary together in April of 2011.

Pauline and Fred headed west in 1947 and moved to Glendora, CA. Pauline was a Charter Life Member and President of the WSCS of the United Methodist Church of Glendora and served on the Board of Directors for the YWCA. She was the treasurer and helped organize and name the Serrano Chapter of the Glendora DAR.

She enjoyed her many years working alongside her children in PTA, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts. She was also a member of the Glendora chapter of PEO and the finance chairperson for the League of Women Voters. She was a charter member of the Auxiliary to the Foothill Presbyterian Hospital and enjoyed volunteering over 1,500 hours.

She took great pride in her Community Service Award presented to her in 1977 for her work with the hospital and Glendora's Bicentennial Committee. After retiring, they moved to Sun City West, AZ. Fred passed away in May of 2011.

Pauline is survived by her three children, Rick, Jon, and Polly and their spouses, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Glendora United Methodist Church, 201 E. Bennett, Glendora, CA, 91741 for the care of their beautiful Rose Garden.
