Margaret C. Bendinger, born August 23, 1907 in Oakland, CA., passed away on March 4, 2009 at the wonderful, amazing age of 101 1/2.
She leaves behind three children and their families, Barbara Ferry and Betty Felkins of Red Bluff (Bend area), and Jim Bendinger of Dales Station. Also, Margaret was a proud, loving Grandmother of six, and a great grandmother of six!
Her husband, John (Jack) Bendinger, the "Love of her Life" passed away 18 years ago.
Margaret attended Catholic Schools in Oakland, and at one time considered becoming a nun! But after meeting Jack, she became a loving, dedicated wife and mother.
Jack and Margaret and family moved to Chester in the early 1950s where Margaret worked as a Bookkeeper and Office Housekeeper for Collins Pine where Jack worked.
After six years, Margaret, Jack and family moved for a short time to Mineral, and then to Lyman Springs.
Two years later Margaret and family came to Red Bluff (Bend area) where once again she worked as a Bookkeeper at Firestone for 6 - 7 years.
When she retired, Margaret began to travel, which she loved to do. She never went by plane, always by car, bus or train, to many parts of the United States and Canada. She especially loved to go to Bandon, Oregon and Humbug Valley. She was given the nickname "Go-Go Girl" by her family and friends!
On her 100th birthday she was given a wonderful party at the Community Center, where so many friends and family enjoyed celebrating with this amazing woman.
Margaret was first and always a wife and mother, and will be remembered for her love, sense of humor, thoughtfulness and caring.
We will miss you Mom!
