Perry Ault was born on Oct 23, 1867 in Jordan, Green Co, Wisconsin. His father Andrew Ault b1836 was 31 and his mother Elisabeth Wagner Ault was 25. Perry traveled with his family across the plains in a covered wagon from Wisconsin to Nebraska in abt 1870. Later in life when at the age of 100 he wrote a book entitled 'From 0xen to Jet Plane' as he flew in an airplane to visit his daughter in Alaska in the late 60's. He married Lelah Ethel Smith on Jun 28, 1899 and they had eight children together between the years 1900 and 1920. He had several professions over his 80 some years of working. Perry could be found out cutting wood on his place at the age of 100. In 1908 he is found running a meat market in Dillon, Colorado. In 1909 he bought what was known as the Maxwell Ranch 5 miles below McCoy, Colorado. The year 1914 finds him purchasing his 1st Automobile so he can transport the produce he has raised on the farm to town for selling. In his book he describes getting the Contract to build county roads in Eagle Co. Colorado in the 1920's & 30's. By 1930 Perry has taken up ranching and continued to do so up thru the 1940's. He was no doubt a hard-working & industrious fellow. In the late 1960's he flew on a Jet Plane for the 1st time to visit his daughter in Alaska. He passed away on Aug 29, 1970 in Kremmling, Colorado, just shy by 2 months of the age of 103. His spouse of some 70 years passed away just a year later at her daughters home in Tacoma, Wash in Dec 1971.
