Martin "Marty" Bodrog of Annandale died Monday Sept 16 2013.

Marty was Born October 15, 1958 in Woodbury, NJ. He grew up in Woodbury, NJ, Martinsville , IN and North Andover, MA, and spent his high school years in Audubon, NJ. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1981 and served as a Surface Warfare Officer in a distinguished career that spanned 22 years. Following his retirement, Marty continued to serve his Nation by overseeing the design and procurement of ships for our Navy. His expertise and experience in Amphibious operations allowed Marty to make lasting contributions to the success of the Navy - Marine Corps Team. A lifelong hockey fan, Marty took great pleasure in following his beloved Boston Bruins. An attendee of Immanuel Bible Church for 16 years, Marty and his family taught pre-school Sunday school and was active in "Young Life", a Christian outreach to high school students. A humble, loving father and neighbor, Marty could frequently be seen in all types of weather, even post blizzard bitter cold, in shorts and his trademark Boston Bruins jersey, walking his dog and helping shovel all the driveways of his elderly neighbors. Marty was a source of great inspiration to his family and friends those of us that were lucky enough to know Marty are better people for it.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Immanuel Bible Church, 6911 Braddock Rd. Springfield VA on Saturday 21 September at 2PM. An interment ceremony will be held at a Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Marty's name to: Boston Bruins Charitable Foundation, Inc. 100 Legends Way Boston, MA 02114.
