PFC Bobby Dean Anthony, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Cherryville, NC.

PFC Bobby Dean Anthony was a member of the Army, PFC Anthony served our country until January 31st, 1969 in Quang Nam, South Vietnam. He was 19 years old and was not married. It was reported that Bobby died from friendly fire. His body was recovered. PFC Anthony is on panel 33W, line 023 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.

A published book mentions Bobby- See "Facing The Wall" by Duncan Spencer. See page 71 as a schoolteacher speaks about Bobby. Rebecca, book reader.

To Any One Who Knew Him. He is thought about each and every day. I have heard a lot about him. I never got to meet him. Angela McSwain, I'm his Niece, 13 Requa Road, Cherryville, NC 28021.

He served with the Charlie Company, 5th Battalion, 46th Infantry Regiment, 198th Infantry Brigade, AMERICAL Division, USARV.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Bronze Star Medal, The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and The Good Conduct Medal.
