Mrs. Margaret Deckert
Manhattan-Mrs. Margaret Deckert, 100, Manhattan, died Monday, Aug. 27, at a Manhattan hospital.
Mrs. Deckert was a housekeeper at Memorial Hospital in Manhattan before she retired in 1971.
she was born May 26, 1884, in Clay County, the daughter of William B. and Nina Mae Commingore Ristone.
Mrs. Deckert was a member of First Christian Church. Memorial Hospital auxiliary and a Lady Elk o the Benevolent and Protective Order o Elks Lodge, all at Manhattan.
Her husband, Beu Deckert, a long-time sheriff of Riley County, died Sept. 27, 1957.
Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Bernice Baxter, Clay Center; and a nephew, John Wise, Hill City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Cowan-Edwards-Yorgensen funeral Home in Manhattan. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Manhattan. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church in Manhattan.
