She married John W. Branson Jan 25 1942, they were divorced in 1956.
Four children Linda Jo. 1948, Carol Ann 1950, John David 1952 and Kathryn Elaine 1953

She received a Bachelor's degree in Zoology in 1942, a Master's Degree in Parasitology in 1944, and a Doctorate in Bacteriology in 1964, all from Kansas State University. Her professional career was quite varied. She worked as a bacteriology technician at Riverside County Hospital then at St. Bernadine's Hospital in California. Teaching Supervisor and Director of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Head Microbiologist at Methodist Hospital and Medical Center in St. Joseph Missouri. She also worked with Missouri Western College to develop a four year medical technology program. Then to Kirksville, Missouri as Assistant Professor of Microbiology at Kirksville College of Ostepathic Medicine. Then to Columbus, Ohio as Head Microbiologist for Grant Hospital and part time consultant for Searle Diagonositcs In 1980 she went full time for Remel, a medical research company. Finally retired in 1985 and concentrated on her hobby, genealogy.
Member of Sigma XI, Phi Kappa Phi, and Gamma Sigma Delta as well as Alpha Mu Tau the honorary fraternity of medical technology. She was awarded the title of "Specialist Microbiologist" in 1969 by the National Registry of Microbiologists.
