Mrs. Sarah Jane Nelson, 84 years old, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Walter Branson in Hamilton, Mo. on Monday morning.
She was born north of Rayville January 22, 1864, and had lived her lifetime in Rayville and community. She was a daughter of Henderson and Rebecca (Swafford) Sloan, both of Tennessee.
She had been a member of the Christian Union church in Rayville for a number of years.
She was married September 13, 1885 to W.J. Nelson who died January 12, 1942.
Surviving are two sons, Delbert Nelson of Richmond; and Henderson Nelson of Excelsior Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Branson of Hamilton; and Mrs. Frank Albertson of Kansas City; one twin sister, Mrs. Annie Fowler of Tulsa, Okla.; nie grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at the Rayville Christian Union Church Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in Old Union cemetery, near Lawson. The Rev. Wilbur Holman officiated. Quest-Lile Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
