Daniel Mellen, Jr. of Fitzwilliam, NH. served during the entire American Revolution, a considerable part of the time in the "Commander-in-Chief's Guard", organized 12-Mar-1776 to protect General Washington as well as the money and official papers of the Continental Army. Daniel married Hannah Goodridge on 19SEP1776 and they lived first in Fitchburg, then in Fitzwilliam, and finally in Bridgewater, NY.
