Bernard Wright, 67, R. R. 1 Waldron died at 7 p.m., Saturday 3 Mar 1979, at his home. He had not been ill.
A lifelong farmer in the Waldron community, Mr. Wright also clerked at Keneth Nigh auction sales for the past 20 years. He belonged to the Waldron Masonic Lodge where he was a past master and currently was serving as treasurer. He also was a member of the Eastern Star, Waldron United Methodist Church and Waldron Community Club. He was a charter member of the Waldron Fire Department.
Born 6 Feb 1912 in Shelby County, a son of John Ernest and Florence Idona (Durbin) Wright, he was married 16 June 1940 to Ava Mae Forster at West Street Methodist Church in Shelbyville, who died 17 Feb 1973.
Surviving are a son, Jeffrey Wright (wife Linda), Shelbyville; a brother, Wayne Wright, Waldron; and a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth) Winn, R. R. 1 Edinburgh; and two grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday 7 Mar 1979, at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home, St. Paul, with the Revs. Henry Karg and Paul Gentry officiating. Burial was in Van Pelt Cemetery. Friends called at the funeral home after 1 p.m., Tuesday and a Masonic service was held at the funeral home at 8 o'clock Tuesday evening.
