Bradam, Melba Elizabeth, 89, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2007. She was born November 28, 1917 in Oklahoma City to Milton and Effie Murphy. Melba lived in Oklahoma City with her mother, sister Margaret and brother Kenneth. She graduated from Central High School and worked at multiple jobs while attending classes at the University of Oklahoma. She married James Houston Johnson in 1936. They lived in Oklahoma City where they owned a service station until he was called to service in WWII. Following the war and college for Houston, they lived in Oklahoma while he pursued his coaching and teaching careers. After Houston's death, she pursued a career of her own. She loved being a teacher's aid for special education students. This job was followed by working as the school librarian for many years. Children were always a part of her life. She later moved to Ada where she married Lloyd Bradam and remained there after his death. Melba was a member of Asbury UMC of Ada. Her joys in life were her daughter, Kay; her grandchildren Heather and Kyle; and her great grandchildren Courtney, Kellen and Reese. She is survived by these family members and a brother Kenneth Murphy of Ada, OK.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. She will be at the Criswell Funeral Home in Ada for viewing on Friday.
