WILL OF ANNE PETTIBONE HOLCOMB
In ye name of God amen, I Ane Holcomb in ye County of Hartford being now by ye providence of God very sick and weak as to boddey but of a sound mind and memory at ____ sent Blessed Be God for ye same yet knowing ye it is appointed for all mankind once to Die. I do therefore make and ordain this my Last will and testament in manner and form as followeth and first I resign my Soul to God ye Giver thereof and my bodey I give to be buried with a decent Christian burial at ye discretion of my Executors and as to ye good things of this Life that God in his good providence hath blest mewith I do dispose of ye same as followeth viz.
After the payment my funeral charges and all my just debts and dues I hereby give and bequeath to my son, John, my cane and a pare of tongs ye before mentioned cane to be his during his life after his decease to return to Asahel his brother and to his son Asahel forever.
And to the heirs of my son Moses deceased I do give five shillings to be paid out of my estate and to ye heirs of my daughter Ane deceased I do give five shillings.
And to my daughter Dinah I do give my Bible and riding hood.
And to Sarah my daughter I do give my short cloke.
And to my four Daughters now surviving namely, Dinah, Ester, Martha & Sarah I do give all the rest of my estate to be divided in equal proportions between them.
And I do hearby appoint my son John and Joseph Phelps Jr. to be my Executors to this my Last will and testament as witness my hand signed seal and delivered and published as my Last will and testament April 21st 1753. Signed with her mark Ane Holcomb.
