Frederic Megson, 80, of Martinsville died yesterday at home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Conroy Funeral Home, 21 E. Second St., Bound Brook.
Burial will be in Bound Brook Cemetery.
Mr. Megson was a research chemist for 40 years with American Cyanamid, Bound Brook, retiring in 1979.
He was a graduate of Columbia University, and earned a doctorate in organic chemistry from New York University in 1959.
An avid post card collector and dealer for more than 35 years, Mr. Megson wrote "American Advertising Post Cards-Sets and Series 1870-1920," which was published in 1987, and "American Exposition Post Cards 1870-1920," which was published in 1992.
He was a member of the 1904 World's Fair Society and the Metropolitan, the Morlatton, the Garden State and the Washington Crossing post card clubs.
Born in St. Paul, Minn., Mr. Megson lived in Middlesex before moving to Martinsville in 1961.
Surviving are a son, Christofer, and a daughter, Mrs. Janet Kagan.
