Birth: May 23, 1924
Death: Dec. 4, 2000

Roy Calvin Claxton was born in Purcell, OK on May 23rd, 1924 and was taken into the arms of God on December 4, 2000. After serving his country honorably in World War II, he moved, with his young family to Bremerton, WA in 1953 where he worked as a welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. In 1960, Roy began his lifetime career as a livestock dealer, best known for his "Cowtown" facility on Mullenix Road in Port Orchard, where he enjoyed hosting playdays, jackpot roping and auctions. As a senior citizen, Roy devoted his time and energy to the communities of the Key Peninsula. He loved the gift of laughter and entertained his friends and family with tall stories and cowboy poetry until his death. Roy was a cowboy and an Indian, a farmer, carpenter, and auctioneer; he was a mentor and a "Papa" to many youngsters during his life. He was preceded in death by his brother B. C., sisters Edith, Roberta and Dorothy, grandsons Jason Cain Claxton and Rocco Vincent Santangelo III.
