1LT de Moors honorably served his country during the War on Terrorism and Operation Iraqi Freedom where he received the Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by a son, Infant Gabriel Roger de Moors. Survivors include in addition to his mother and step-father, Danielle and Joseph Lanthier of Quebec, Canada, are his wife, Vendella Howard de Moors; three children, Moroni A. de Moors, Demetrius A. de Moors, and Chastity L. de Moors all of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters and brothers, Isabelle Lanthier, Emmanuelle Lanthier, Jacynthe Lanthier, Stefanie Lanthier, Jonathan Lanthier, Genevieve Lanthier, and Angelique Lanthier. Died near Tal Afar, Iraq, on January 7, 2006 when his UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crashed.
He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado.
