1LT 02, Infantry Officer. KIA. Company C, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III MAF (Marine Amhibious Force), United States Marine Corps. Killed as the result of NVA mortar rounds hitting a Marines 88mm mortar ammo dump in a defensive location near Cam Lo, Quang Tri Province, which caused explosions and fires. Killed in the same action or later dying of wounds suffered in that action were: PVT Monek Weitz (1950-1969), Roxbury, Massachusetts; 2LT Timothy M.
