Leominster- Thomas L. Adams Sr. 76 of Leominster died Friday, August 2nd in his home after an illness. Thomas was born Oct 22 1936 in Jamestown, Kansas son of Glenn and Pauline (Christie) Adams. He had a stepmother Irene Adams. He attended schools in Kirwin Kansas and in 1954 joined the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had been a resident of Lunenburg for 40 years before moving to Leominster 11 years ago. Tom was the former owner operator of Fitchburg Auto Electric for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fitchburg, where he served on the Board of Deacons and was the treasurer for many years. He was in charge of cooking many church suppers and well known for his delicious roast beef suppers. He loved his family and enjoyed spending many memorable times with his children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and extended family and friends. He and Bette loved to travel, especially to Branson MO to enjoy the music and shows.
Tom leaves his wife of 55 years Bette (Goodspeed) Adams, one son Thomas L. Adams Jr and his wife Karen of Templeton, two daughters; Susan Force of Leominster and Kim Rooney of Hillsboro N.H., Shig Furukawa and his wife Cyndee of Liaberty Lake WA., 6 grandchildren; Kayleigh and Megan Force of Leominster,Kaitlin and Zachary Rooney of Hillsboro N.H. and Maya and Seiji Furukawa of Liberty Lake WA, two sisters ; Marie Crist and her husband Alan of Madison WI and Anita Cypher and her husband Earl of Nevis MN, 3 sister-in-laws; Karen Stegmaier of Delphos Kansas, Elaine Stegmaier of Agra Kansas and Sherrel Adams of McCook NE and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Carl Adams in 2004, Arnold Stegmaier in 2005 and Robert Stegmaier in 2005.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 10:00am in the First Baptist Church of Fitchburg, 1400 John Fitch Highway Fitchburg. Burial with full Military honors will be private in the Massachusetts Memorial Veterans Cemetery Winchendon. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Tom's memory may be made to the First Baptist Church of Fitchburg, 1400 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg MA 01420 (www.aubuchon-moorcroftfunralhome.com)
