Roy Franklin Carroll was born to Ralph Elmer and Edith Evelyn Floyd Carroll on 4 July 1926. Roy worked at the Brown Shoe Factory for many years. Roy married Phyllis Jasman on 31 August 1952 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Roy was in the Air Force. Roy was discharged from the Air Force in 1953 at which time they returned to Missouri. Roy and Phyllis had one daughter, Rose Marie, born in 1953. A few years later they moved to Chicago, Illinois where Roy worked for the Jewish Hospital in maintenance. Roy and Phyllis were divorced in 1988 at which time Roy returned to live in Moberly, Missouri, and married Elfreda Freese Leeds. Roy had one brother, Virgil Carroll, d. 2007, and one sister, Stella Mae. Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He would spend much of his free time in the fields or fishing.

Elfreda Freese-Leeds Carroll is also buried in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery on the side opposite Roy.
