CHARLES GRUNDISH, son of Peter and Elizabeth Grundish, was born in Montgomery County, Ohio, December 25, 1836. He was married in October, 1854, to Sarah Croyle, a native of Tuscarawas County, Ohio, and born in January, 1836. Shortly after his marriage, he came to this township and settled on his present farm, which he had previously purchased. In August, 1861, he enlisted in Company E, Thirty-eight Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and served three years under Sherman. He owns 152 acres of good land, and his farm is one of the best cultivated in the neighborhood. He has had born to him a family eleven children, viz., Avarintha. Ella (deceased), Mary, Jacob, Martha, Frances, Samuel, Estella, Ossen, Franklin (deceased) and Otis. Mr. Grundish and wife are members of the United Brethren Church. and are looked upon as excellent neighbors.
