:) :) "Remember Sallie and Smile" :) :)
Thank you for visiting my Great Grandma, Sallie Hunt's Memorial.
Sallie Wade Hunt lived in Spearsville, La. She was the mother of my precious Grandpa, Joseph Melvin Hunt. Sallie was a well educated person and was a school teacher before she maried Sam Hunt. She was a good woman and took very good care of her family. My Grandpa loved his Mother so much and he told me stories about her all my life. Sallie Hunt was a good Christian woman and she was a faithful member of Antioch Church of Christ, just a mile or two down the road from her home in Spearsville, La.
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
The place you filled one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew.....
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.
