:) :) "Remember Margie and Smile" :) :)
Mrs. Margie Hunt Chapman of West Monroe La. was born to Sam and Sallie Wade Hunt on September 4, 1916, in Spearsville, La and died February 14, 2002, in West Monroe, La.
She was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Jackson Street Church of Christ.
Aunt Margie never had children of her own, but she loved all her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. She used to bake Birthday cakes for her niece and nephews. My Dad told me that when he was a little kid, she would give each of the four kids a piece of gum...and then she would cut the last piece of bubble gum into 4 pieces to make sure all 4 kids got the same amount of gum.
I wish I could have known Aunt Margie through the years. I only met her once in my life, while she was in the nursing home in West Monroe, La. All I really know about her is through the stories I have heard of her. I do know that Aunt Margie was a precious Lady and that she was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe W. Chapman; her parents, Sam Hunt and Sallie Wade Hunt; one sister, Oneak Aulds, and husband George; two brothers,
Dean Hunt, and Orville Hunt,
and a sister-in-law, Trudy Hunt.
She was survived by one sister,
Ruby Stayton, and husband Russell of West Monroe, La.; two brothers, Melvin Hunt, and wife Faye of Sarepta,La., and Irvin Hunt,
of Spearsville, La., and several nieces and nephews.
Aunt Margie was also survived by a special niece, Wanda Fuller, and a special nephew, Glenn Aulds. Wanda and Glenn both looked after Aunt Margie for many years and made sure she was well taken care of.
Margie's Brothers & Sisters:
"Life is but a Stopping Place"
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord
