Born in Clementsville, Idaho, Clarence Orval Ard, 85, completed his earthly life at his home in St. Anthony. He married Vera Inez Reif April 16, 1945 in Ashton. They farmed in Clementsville until retiring in July 1979.
He joined the Air Force in 1940 and was a trained in airplane mechanics, serving in China, India and Burma Theatre during World War II as crew chief. He was discharged in 1944.
A life member and past worshipful master of Masonic Benevolent Lodge No. 38, and Lodge No. 73 in Ashton; Grand Commander Knights Templar of Idaho Grand Chapter Royal Arch Mason State of Idaho, El Korah Templar Shrine in Boise; Life member and Past Patron of Eastern star; Life member of Veterans of Foreign wars Post No. 9012, he was an elder and deacon of the Presbyterian church and participated in Boy Scouts.
His children: Sandy, Susie and Gary; four grandsons, Dan (Michelle) Starr, Pat Starr, Jeremy (Stephanie) Bird and six great grandchildren, Calvin, Megan, Sierra, Shelbi, Aspen, and Damien; a brother, Calvin Ard; a sister, Paulene Fetty survive. His parents, wife, Vera; and two sisters, Madeline Wood and Ellen White predeceased Clarence.
