Mrs. Susan Courtney
Lexington – Mrs. Susan Alice Courtney, 83, died at 5:40 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Bloomington. She had been a patient there since Dec. 9 when she fell and broke her hip.
She was brought to the Musselman Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Mrs. Courtney was born May 12, 1870 in Scott County, Virginia, the daughter of Parvin Lewis. She was married to David Courtney May 9, 1887, in Virginia. She had lived in Lexington for the past 40 years.
Survivors are two sons, Roy, Lexington and Russell, Chicago, three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Smith, Hiseville, Ky.; Miss Frances Lewis, Lexington and Mrs. Elizabeth Beals, Glasgow, Ky. and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Courtney was a member of the Christian Church and the Royal Neighbors Lodge.
