Birth: May 20, 1986
Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland
Death: Sep. 23, 2008
Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland

Escorted my child to the world like a ship to the sea.
I sewed the sails, adviced the road, just like I knew it was best. But the winds do beyond its control.

With a heavy heart announcing the passing of Matti in the Kauhajoki school shooting as he could not find peace here.

Matti J. Saari, of Kauhajoki, formerly Pyhäjärvi, died September 23, 2008. He was born May 20, 1986 in Oulu.

The son of Riitta Saari, little brother of late Timo Saari.
Half big brother of three, step brother of two.

Matti attended Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences of Hotel and Restaurant Management, formerly Pyhäjärvi senior high school and Pyhäjärvi Vocational college. He graduated from Nivala College of catering in Pyhäjärvi in May 2006. He also was an exchange student in Hungary during his college years.
He served his military service at Kainuu brigade in Kajaani.

Matti was described as a shy, but kind and friendly person. He was smart, talented and creative; a gifted student who honorably received a scholarship. Matti was sympathetic, likeable; one of his kind.

Matti is survived by his parents, siblings, grandparents, his close friends, uncles and cousins.

Interment at Pyhäjärvi Cemetery.

Matti Juhani Saari Obituary

Matti Juhani

Saattelin lapseni maailmalle, kuin laivan merelle. Ompelin purjeet, neuvoin väylät, parhaan taitoni mukaan. Mutta tuulille en voinut mitään.

Maailmassa monta on ihmeellistä asiaa..

Siunaus toimitettu läheisten läsnäollessa. Kiitos kaikille, jotka ovat meitä muistaneet ja tukeneet suuressa surussamme.
