She was born on November 4, 1934, in Huntington, IN, to William "Bill" Lamoine and Virginia Nell (Endsley) Detamore.
Both Demona and Verle were members of the Dayton United Methodist Church, and active in the sport of horse harness racing for a number of years, with Rosemont Student capturing the track record at Sciota Downs in Columbus, OH. As a Business and Economics graduate of Taylor University in Upland, IN, Demona demonstrated a superior business sense and bookkeeping skills, and was unparalleled as a wife and mother in the eyes of her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Jonell Barrett of Tampa, FL; her son Barry Dwight Barrett of Dayton, PA; her mother Virginia Nell (Endsley) Detamore of Upland, IN; two sisters, Lamona Miller and Berta Theone "Sis" Long of Marion, IN; a brother Burtis Theron "Sonny" Detamore of Upland, IN; numerous nieces and nephews, and 4 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Lamoine Detamore and her husband, Verle Dwight Barrett with whom she would have celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary on December 27, 2008.
Demona also has a memorial in Milton Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
