John Jake Helton

John Jake Helton, age 82, passed away at the home of his son on Section Route 2 on March 10, 1945, about 11 a.m. The funeral was held Monday at Free Home Church with Rev. Bartow White conducting and burial at the same place with Word Funeral Home in charge.

He leaves his widow, Mrs. Willie Helton , four daughters, Mrs. H. G. Nagels, New Orleans, LA, Mrs. Janie Walls, Gunters Mountain, Mrs. Rosie Guffey, Gunters Mountain, Mrs. A.J. Knight, Scottsboro; four sons, Jim Helton, Gunters Mountain, Oliver Helton, Theodore, Ala, John Helton, Section Route 2, Albert Helton, Dutton and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Helton, and a son, Larkin Helton
