Funeral services for Bud Dixon, 89, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 1p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, in Tapp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.
Burial will be in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery with Bobby Dixon, Tommy Dixon, Dago Dixon, Jack Oxford, Avon Scott, Gary Mills, Cletis Speed and Leroy Dixon serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Dixon died at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, in Carriage House Manor Nursing Home.
He was born March 20, 1905, in Hopkins County, the son of James T. Dixon and Jennye Moore Dixon. He married Verda Parrish on October 30, 1941, in Hopkins County. She preceded him in death in May 1981.
Mr. Dixon was a retired maintenance employee for the Texas Highway Department and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Earl Dixon of Terrell; a daughter, Jennie Deaton of Sulphur Springs; a stepdaughter, Mary Katherine Harris of Mobil, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
