Rogersville – Funeral services for James Avery Absher, 72, of Route 2, Howe's Chapel Road, Rogersville, who was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday evening at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday from Howe's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Mullins and Rev. Ray Ferrell officiating. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to services.
He was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. He was a member of the Howe's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lula Ferrell Absher, Rogersville; one daughter, Mrs. May Lee Turner, Rogersville; three sons, Coy Absher, Harley Absher and Doyle Absher, all of Rogersville; one granddaughter.
Burial will follow in Howe's Chapel Church cemetery.
