James B. Alley, 74, of Farmington, passed away Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at the V.A. Hospital in Albuquerque after a brief illness. He was born March 24, 1932, in Richmond, Va., to Buford Thomas Alley and Thelma Bernice Alley.
James served his country proudly in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked for El Paso for 25 years and retired in 1986. Jim lived life the way he wanted to and enjoyed playing pool, traveling, and collecting and restoring old cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother and one grandchild.
He is survived by his daughter, Yvette Alley Garcia of Farmington, two sons, Larry and Terry Harris, and one daughter Sandy Williams, grand-daughter Kalie Alley, eight grandchildren and two sisters, Iris Bryant of Farmington and Anita Cates of St. Petersburg, Fla., and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for James will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Alternative Choice Chapel in Farmington, followed by burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.
