Son of Stephen Chenault b. 1767 of Virginia. He married Mary (Polly) Huchingson on 11.3.1814. His mother was Fanny Nelson. His monument reads, "He sleeps in Jesus blessed sleep, From which none ever wakes to weep."

The "J" in his name may be Jackson.
