Death: May 24, 1911

Indian Wars Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. Born in Arkansas, he was a Native American Seminole Indian, serving as a Sergeant in the 24th U.S. Army Infantry known as the Seminole Negro Indian Scouts. On April 25, 1875, he was on a scouting patrol with three other men at the Pecos River, Texas. There he participated in a charge against 25 hostiles and rescued his commanding officer under sustaining heavy fire. For courage in the face of the enemy, he was awarded the Medal of Honor on May 28, 1875. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
