Birth: 1705
Death: Mar. 2, 1747
Montgomery County
Pennsylvania, USA

Thomas Bull was born in 1705 and married Elizabeth Addams the daughter of Richard Addams & Alite Gertien Op Den Graeff. Thomas Bull lived in Worcester Township, now part of Philadelphia as described in his will dated 1745. He is on the record of St. James Church Pennsylvania as a vestryman in 1738. The children of Thomas Bull and Elizabeth Addams were (1) General John Bull 1731-1824 married Mary Philips 1730-1824 (2) Ann Bull 1734-1812 married Henry Newberry 1724-1787 (3) Margaret Bull (4) Catherine Bull 1738-1758 (5) William Bull 1740-1811 married Margaret Hunter 1748-1789 (6) Thomas Bull 1746-1771 married Sarah Gronow 1751-1827

Thomas Bull's widow Elizabeth Addams Bull married Thomas Rossiter on the 18th of April 1751 in Philadelphia. The children of Elizabeth Addams Bull and Thomas Rossiter were (1) Samuel Rossiter b. 1752 (2) Elizabeth Rossiter Robinson b. 1754 (3) Thomas W. Rossiter b. 1755 (4) Ann Rossiter b. 1758

(Elizabeth Addams Bull Rossiter)..In the records of her son, General John Bull it is stated, “ She was living with a son and daughter whom the General went down to visit sometimes, and from which place David (son of Benjamin) Rittenhouse brought the news on his return to Northhumberland” She died in her 97th year in April, probably about 1803, In a letter from Mrs Rebecca (Bull) Boyd to her sister Mrs Maria Louisa (Bull) Nourse (the date is not noted but probably was between 1803 and 1810 and the place at which it was written was undoubtedly Northumberland, Pennsylvania as General John Bull was then living at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Boyd), It was stated “ By David’s return we learned that out respected grandmother left this world April; her illness was very short and she was quite sensible until the last few minutes. The day before she died she mentioned to her son and daughter that she had distinctly heard three taps on the head of her bed, and on that hour the next day she would depart, as her father had heard the same, and she believed it a token for her to be prepared. At the hour mentioned she expired. She was in her ninety-seventh year. Papa seems to mourn her death very much. He had been talking of paying her a visit this summer. He often mentioned how highly gratified she was in seeing him the last time he was down.” As no mention is made of Thomas Rossiter, it is probable that he had been deceased some years. He is recorded as having bought in 1761 in New Providence Township 172 acres of land from the Pennsylvania Land Company. The 1790 census mentions a Thomas Rossiter Jr., of Charlestown Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
