Jane loved to sew, and sewed for many of the residents in Bruin. She also served as a midwife. Many of the people in Bruin called her "Aunt Jane". She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and it was said that if the church doors were open "Aunt Jane" was there.

Mrs. Jane Emery, aged 82, widow of J.H. Emery, died at the family residence in Bruin at 8:30 o'clock Sunday night. She had resided in Bruin the greater part of her life.
Surviving are the following children: Everett at home, Mrs. Margaret Conn and Ralph Emery of Petrolia, Mrs. Mamie Rinker of Kittanning and Mrs. Grace Gibson of Hooker, 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.
Funeral services will be held from the Knox Funeral Home in Bruin at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with Rev. H.H. Thompson pastor, of the Bruin Methodist Episcopal church, officiating. Burial will be in the Fletcher cemetery.
