Reverend Ralph Anderson 89 of Big Flat went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2011. He was born October 21, 1921 near Big Flat, Arkansas to the late William Saul Anderson and Hattie Lawrence Anderson.
He was a retired minister, farmer, factory worker, School bus driver and teachers aide. He began his adult life as a School Teacher working in rural schools of Cedar Creek, Freck and Crossroads before going back to work on the farm.
He was the founding pastor of the United Pentecostal Church at Fifty-Six, Arkansas that was later moved to Mountain View. He also served churches at Round Mountain and Marshall as Minister and Pastor. He worked several years at Shirt Factories in Marshall and Gassville, Arkansas then returned to work at school and worked a number of years as a bus driver and teachers aide at Big Flat School.
On July 27, 1941 he married his childhood sweetheart, Grace Treat with whom he would spend 64 years before her passing in 2006. They were mom and dad to five children four of whom survive him.
He is survived by his son, Pastor Harold Anderson and his wife Sue, of Lake City, Arkansas, Rev. Gary Anderson and wife Kathy of Conway, Fredia Anderson of Marshall and Rev. Dennis Anderson and wife Susan of Pearcy, Arkansas, two sisters, Mildred Treat of Marianna and Nadine Gilley of Big Flat, eleven grandchildren, Bruce, Greg, Kent and Ryan Anderson, Cindy Jayroe, Kim Horton, Kristie Siska, Jennifer Watts, Dennis Lee Anderson, Erica O'Connell and Christin Culberson and sixteen great grandchildren.
