Memorial services for Charles Ray Gary, 64, are Saturday, Dec. 20, 11 a.m., at the Inola Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Billy Joe Russell officiating. He died Monday, Dec. 15. The son of Jody Ray and Mabel Irene (Beaty) Gary was born Dec. 19, 1943, in Greenville, Miss. He attended school and graduated from high school in Whitney, Texas, in 1962. He then joined the U.S. Navy where he served for eight years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. In 1969, he began working with his uncle who taught him to drive a truck. He was a longtime employee for John Christner Trucking. In 1988, he married Bonnie Lue Stephens and they made their home in Inola for several years. They then moved to Big Cabin where they lived for the past 14 years. He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley and talking on his Ham radio. His call sign was KC5KLN. He was a member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob Simon; and father-in-law, Hugh Stephens. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of the home; step-daughters, Rhonda McCoy and husband Michael, Catoosa, Tera Ingram, Inola and Kameron Edwards, Kansas; step-mother, Pauline Gary, Shreveport, La.; siblings, Gwen Eubank and husband Charli, Whitney, Texas, Mary Hanna and husband Johnny, Mesquite, Texas, Billy Lott and wife Patricia, Seattle, Wash., Jodie Gary and wife Sharon, Shreveport, La., Glenn Gary, Shreveport, La., Becky Gary, Joyce Lee, Shreveport, La. and Freddie Gary, Shreveport, La.; mother-in-law, Edna Stephens, Tulsa; sisters-in-law, Sue Massey, Tulsa and Lavoys Simon, Malakoff, Texas; brother-in-law, Roy Stephens and wife, Kathy, Neosho, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Amie McCoy, Eric McCoy, Michael Keith McCoy, Taylor Ingram, Michael Luke McCoy, Tyler Ingram and Kaylyn Edwards; and many other family and friends.
