Son of John Hoskins, Jr., and Sarah Haines. Brother of Edwin A. Hoskins, Anson N. Hoskins, and Georgiana Hoskins.

A druggist and physician. Married Anna Maria Lawrence on May 6, 1846, at Philadelphia City Hall by Mayor John Swift.

Three children:

Clara Jane Hoskins (1847-1917; m. Samuel Porter; burial unknown, somewhere near Bridgeburg, Ontario per NY DC)

William Henry Hoskins (1848-death unknown; family records indicate he may have died at age 64, location unknown)

Mary Catherine Hoskins (1849-1921)

Reinterred to Lawnview Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pa.
