SILVER SPRING, MARYLAND — Mr. John Armistead Norris, 89, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away Feb. 10, 2012. Mr. Norris was born July 13, 1922, in Wilmington, Delaware. He served his country in the US Army Air Force as a Sergeant for three years during World War II as an interpreter in both Russian and German. Mr. Norris was a graduate of UVA and worked for 40 years with the NSA Department of Defense as a Russian research analyst.
Survivors include his wife, Allen Hart Norris, who was a 1949 graduate of WTHS, and resides in Silver Spring; brother T. Bland Norris, of Blacksburg, Virginia; brother-in-law, Humes Hart, of Waynesville; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be on Friday March 23, 2012 at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Robert Prince officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
