Thomas Oliver Denney was the son of George and Mariah Lumley Denny and the 2nd husband of Ann Mariah Hattabaugh. Thomas and Ann Mariah married 23 March 1865 and were the parents of Sarah Lauena, Benjamin Jackson, Mary Florence, Carrie Alice, Hallie Annia and George W. He farmed for a living. According to family tradition both died of consumption. Their children were raised by the parents of Ann Mariah, George W. and Sarah Catherine Boling Hattabaugh
