Married ca. 1752 to Anna Landis (born Oct. 9, 1734 in Lancaster County, Pa.; died Mar. 17, 1791 in Lebanon County), daughter of Henry (#73467002) and Veronica (Groff) Landis.
On Nov. 15, 1751, John bought 260 acres in Lebanon Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, from his father (Lancaster County Deed Book D page 527).
Private 2nd class from PA in the Revolutionary War. Served under Captain Baltzer Orth's Company of Militia divided into 8 classes, it being the first company of the 2nd Battalion, Lebanon Township, Lancaster County, 1781.
Apr. 7, 1788, gave power of attorney to John Macnere, for special authority for recovery of property in Hampshire County, Va.
