| Birth: | Aug. 17, 1760 | | Death: | Oct. 22, 1844 |  James Chambers, who was born in the 1760s in Pennsylvania and died in 1844 in Cass County's Clinton Township. He and his wife, Kitty, had six children who all were among early settlers in the county. He enlisted as a private in Capt. James Wilson's company in 1776. Chambers is buried in St. John's Church Cemetery, the oldest burial ground in the county outside the city of Logansport.
