LARUE (FIELDS) HARMON
LaRUE Harmon, 89 of Robert Lee passed away in Robert Lee Care Center.
Family visitation will be at 6-8 PM on Friday, March 12 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10 AM, Saturday March 13, at Robert Lee Baptist Church officiated by Dale Patterson and Mike Burson. Burial will follow in the Paint Creek Cemetery.
LaRue was born on Sept. 22, 1914, to Joe and Eva McAuley Field in Robert Lee, TX. Her mother passed away when she was five years old, and was raised by her stepmother Virginia "Jenny" Field. She married Finis Harmon on June 11, 1936 in Robert Lee; they were married 58 years.
LARUE (FIELDS) HARMON was a native of Robert Lee and spent most of her life there except for a short stay in Sterling City, while Finis worked on a ranch. LaRue's roots run deep in Coke County, her Grandfather G.C. Field started the First Methodist Church in Robert Lee many years ago.
She was well known for her food service, working at the Water Valley Schools, the Green Mountain Schools, and then for the Robert Lee Nursing Home. There are some of the students that swear they can still smell her peanut butter cookies baking.
LaRue was alongtime member of Pecan Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, FINIS HARMON . LaRue is survived by her son WILLIAM JOE HARMON and wife Julia Ann of Southlake, TX and two grandsons, Joey Harmon and wife Dee Anna, and Ronnie Harmon and wife Cari. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she loved so dearly.
