Milton "Bill" Harmon, 91, of Robert Lee, Texas, died Thursday, May 30, 2013. Visitation will be all day Sunday, June 2, 2013, with the family present from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Robert Lee with Bill Wood, pastor of Pecan Baptist Church, officiating. Bill was born July 6, 1921, in Coke County, Texas, to Thomas and Amanda Harmon. He graduated from Robert Lee High School. Bill served in the Navy from 1942 to 1946. While a Navy SeaBee, he served as a member of the Naval Construction Battalion Detachment 1058, the first Artic oil expedition.

Survivors include one brother, Randall of San Angelo; one sister, Inez Harper of Robert Lee; one son, Jim Eicke and wife Sharon of Amarillo; one daughter, Sandy Mader and husband Vern of Canon City, Colo.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that were an important part of his life, as well. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Olean Stricklan, of Robert Lee; and his granddaughter, Sabrina Krueger, who were precious caregivers that enabled him to stay in his home and took loving care of him for as long as possible.
