L.R. was the son of Leonard Rush "L.R." Hamrick (1885-1952) and Permelia Angaline "Mealy" Dennis (1889-1965) born somewhere in Texas. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Imogene "Jean" Horris (1930-2012) on November 30, 1946 and they had three children. He died in Phoenix, Arizona at Age: 57.
