Clinton, Rockingham Co, VA. enlisted Sept 29 1813 discharged Jan 10 1814. 24444-80-50, 11269-80-55. John Sheets Sr, Charles O. Black and Benjamin Berry testify to claimant's loyalty Aug 10 1871. John Berry age 69 Mar 22 1855. served 116th Regt. commanded by Col Koontz was drafted at Rockingham Co Jun 15 1813 for about 6 mos discharged at Norfolk on Dec 15 1813. received 80 acres on Sept 28 1850. notice of discharge: John Berry a soldier from Rockingham Co, now at Norfolk, in the 4th regt... having completed six months service is ... discharged Jan 10 1814. Capt. Dan. Matthews, John Koontz Lt. Col. Mar 13 1871 John Berry age 83 enlisted Oct 16 1813 and discharged Jan 10 1814. Mar 13 1871 page shows John Sheets and Charles O Black as witnesses. land warrant #SC-3286
