Son of John Bengry and Mary Jones.

Arthur married Florence Kate Fulcher (known as Kate), in Chelmsford, Essex, in 1903.

Arthur, Kate, and their family lived in Coventry, where Arthur worked in the motor industry, which Coventry was famous for.

On the 6th September 1907, Arthur (probably with Kate and their children) was on holiday in Chelmsford, Essex. He and Kate's brother, Percy Fulcher were at the Recreation Ground, in Chelmsford, when around six o'clock that evening a boy named Alfred William Victor Storey aged 6, fell into the river.

Although Arthur could not swim he jumped into the water in an attempt to grab the boy, but sadly he was unable to do so. Several other people joined in the rescue but the little boy drowned despite attempts to resuscitate him.

Arthur aged 50, died at his home , 79, Highfield Rd, from pulmonary tuberculosis, Kate was by his side.

Kate died from pneumonia in 1949 aged about 70.
