US Air Force Major Thomas Laird Brattain, Vietnam Veteran and native of Portland, Oregon.
US Air Force Major Thomas Laird Brattain was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Air Force, MAJ Brattain served our country until November 28th, 1968 in Quang Nam, South Vietnam. He was 35 years old and was married. It was reported that Thomas died when his plane crashed. His body was recovered. Thomas was born on March 24th, 1933 in Portland, Oregon. MAJ Brattain is on panel 38W, line 082 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for 12 years.
Maj Thomas Laird Brattain served as a Major with the 390th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 366th Tactical Fighter Wing, 7th Air Force, United States Air Force, Vietnam.
He was awarded The US Air Force Pilots Wings Insignia, The Air Medal with Devices, The National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal and The Vietnamese Gallantry Cross Unit Citation.
