Services for Vivian Mitchell, 82, of Kermit will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at First Baptist Church in Kermit. Officiating will be the Rev. Earnest Wall, pastor of First Baptist and the Rev. Russell Smith, retired, of Kermit. Burial will follow at the Kermit Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.Vivian died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Odessa Regional Hospital.
She was born May 18, 1919, in St. Louis, Mo. Vivian was a former runway model in New York City and was also a former Miss Missouri in 1937. Vivian was a past member of the Eastern Star and a member of the First Baptist Church in Kermit. She married C.A. Mitchell on July 8, 1939, in Potosie, Mo. They are longtime ranchers in the Kermit area.
Survivors are her husband, C.A. Mitchell of Kermit; daughter, Cheryl and husband Robert Roark of Andrews; brother, Richard and wife Edith Guthrie of Fountain Valley, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Ross and wife Sharon Roark of Collinsville and Rachel Roark and
fiance Bart Rankin of Dallas.
