Published in Daily Press on November 16, 2002 (in part): POQUOSON - William Thomas "Tommy" Forrest, 75, passed away on Friday, Nov. 15, 2002. He was a native and lifelong resident of Poquoson.
A member of Poquoson Baptist Church, he was a Deacon since 1984. His career as an independent waterman ended in 1991 after 50 years on the water. He was a member of the Poquoson Waterman's Association.
Preceding him in rest are his parents, Leroy P. and Emma Page Forrest; brothers, Maylon P. Forrest and Roy W. Forrest.
Surviving members of his family include his wife, Emily Virginia Insley Forrest; daughters, Emily Jean Forrest Southall and husband, Charles M. "Bud" Southall III, Judith Forrest Brooks and husband, Steven R. Brooks, and Ann Thomas Forrest Johnson; "borrowed son", Timothy L. Firth; grandchildren, Charles T. Southall, David Southall, Stacy S. Holloway, William Keith Stewart, Kimberly Ann Johnson; great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Hunter Southall, Alexis and Landon Southall, Bobbie Layne and Logan Holloway, Allison M. Johnson; sister, Pauline Forrest Cross; special mother-in-law, Alice L. Insley; and numerous special nieces and nephews.
