Services for Mr. James "Jimmy" Reynolds, Jr. will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Glenmora Church of Christ with Mr. Frank Akridge, Jr. and Brother Justin Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria. Military Honors will be provided by personnel from the Louisiana National Guard.
The family request that visitation be observed on Wednesday at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Reynolds, 53, of Alexandria passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Reynolds graduated from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, with a B. S. degree. He was a teacher for the Rapides Parish School Board and was a former assistant basketball coach for 7 years at Glenmora High School. He was retired from the Louisiana National Guard. During his tenure with the Louisiana National Guard he was an instructor at the NCO Academy. Mr. Reynolds was a member of the Patriot Riders Motorcycle Club and the local Hog Chapter.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 1 year and 7 months, Melissa Reynolds; sons, Joshua Reynolds and wife, Janet of Little Rock, Arkansas, Joseph Reynolds and wife, Rhonda of Alexandria; step-son, Nathan Snyder of Alexandria; step-daughters, Kimberly Snyder of Alexandria and Kristen Snyder of Alexandria; parents, J. D. and Faye Wattis Reynolds of Alexandria; sister, Joy Guillory and husband, Danny of Alexandria and their children, Aleesha Moffett and Jacob Guillory; grandchildren, Abbie, Aiden, Addison and Alyssa.
Pallbearers will be Danny Guillory, Bruce White, Mark Lebato, Gray Moffett, Robert Flowers, Jacob Guillory, Robert Hebert and Thomas Hebert.
