Stephen C. Carleton
born: ca 1820
Stephen C. enlisted as a private in 4th Regiment, GA Reserves on 01 May 1864. He was sent to Andersonville where he served as a guard. He died in his tent 12 Nov 1864 from measles and jaundice. He was first buried at Andersonville. In 1880, the Ladies Memorial Society of Americus moved his remains to Oak Grove Confederate Cemetery, where he remains.

Stephen C. Carleton was a son of Stephen Carleton (1785, prob Wilkes County - 1841 Elbert County) and Susannah Childs (1791 NC - abt 1850, GA;

They were married 3 May 1810 in Elbert County.
